In the peaceful city of Cuenca, there are various options available for expatriate families who wish to integrate their children into the education system. Usually, one of the main concerns for parents and kids is learning Spanish. However, there are numerous possibilities for children and adolescents to learn Spanish in and out of a traditional classroom.

If you would like to start with homeschooling, you have the option to do so. Additionally, remote or in-person Spanish classes are available to further develop language skills. If your preference is for bilingual education and socializing with other children, you have the opportunity to choose from kindergartens and secondary schools of high quality. There are also Montessori schools and others that follow the Waldorf method. What are the requirements for enrolling my child in the Ecuadorian education system? 1. Copy of the child/adolescent's passport 2. Copy of the parent's/legal guardian's passport 3. Latest academic records from the country of origin or educational diploma translated to Spanish 4. If you do not have documents validating the student's educational level, they may need to take a knowledge validation test and will be assigned to the appropriate level If your child plans to attend university, the same documents are required, but they must be legalized and apostilled and translated to Spanish. Additionally, you should stay informed about the admission process at the chosen university. Without exception, all students wishing to enter university must take an entrance exam.
